Even at work, it is fundamental to follow upcoming fashion trends. By following trends and using modern, fashionable colors and/or shapes in your workwear, you can make yourself look confident, trustworthy and socially accessible. This has a direct impact on your professional image, and thus, on your career growth.

Following fashion trends is important, however, anticipating them, will make you even more stand out the working crowd, since this requires way more time, effort and knowledge.

As you may know, the official fashion season started approximately a month ago with the menswear shows in Paris and Milan (Fall-Winter 2020-2021). Even though you could think menswear has nothing to teach you, I’ve spotted some great runway looks that you may have to steal for upcoming new season. With these 5 runway trends, you can anticipate and prepare your workwear wardrobe for upcoming season and set the trends in your work place!

Sit back, take notes and shop their look!

Stand out the working crowd!

Stand out the working crowd by spicing up your very classic corporate look. Both Berluti and Louis Vuitton had the idea of combining a classic suit with a bright fuchsia sweater on the runway. This look is very modern, bold and classic at the same time.

Just by wearing your suit with a bright (fluo) colored sweater, you can easily give a modern twist to your every day workwear.

Leather weather!

Leather garments made their comeback already previous winter, but this time, they are staying with us for spring season too. Many designers improved the “leather look” by using the fabric in more complex garments, like blazers, dresses or even entire suits. Also, leather has now often been used in different (but more soft) colors, like beige, white or brown. Salvatore Ferragamo and Fendi confirmed this trends with these two amazing looks rocking the runway.

So, this season, opt for a leather blazer or pants instead!

Baby, it’s cold outside!

Even though the sweaters were quite classic on the menswear runways, my eyes fell on these two, from Berluti and AMI. Being extra colorful, or well-executed with pompoms, these sweaters were real eye-catchers at Men’s Fashion Week. And may definitely serve as eye-catchers at work too!

Brighten up your day!

Monochrome runway looks were all over the Men’s Fashion Week. It is definitely a trend that has been there for a couple of seasons now, but every season it gets bolder, more elaborated, and more colorful. So, it is now (more than ever) time to adopt these bold monochrome looks in your workwear wardrobe!

Therefore, Fendi’s yellow suit and AMI’s red suit may serve as a great inspiration to wear bright colors at the office!

Cut it short!

Bermuda’s and shorts are clearly one of the trends to adopt in 2020. They can be worn as a suit, with a good pair of boots or with flats (even sneakers, if your office dress code tolerates). Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo were just one of many designers to use the bermuda’s and shorts in their runway looks, which should inspire us for the warmer days at the office!
